Welcome Back Everyone!
I hope everyone had a relaxing and productive break (in terms of transfer). There has been an increase in transfer traffic, so I thought I would send out a couple of reminders to everyone.
For those of you looking to transfer from NCCC to 4-year universities in the Fall of 2011, this is prime-time for applying for admission, scholarships, and completing your FAFSA. Here are some GENERAL GUIDELINES to follow:
ASAP – Apply for admission (online will get processed quicker)
February 1st – University general scholarship deadline (may differ between colleges)
FAFSA Priority Deadlines for Area Universities (have this completed by these dates for best Financial Aid packages)
ESU – February 15th
WU – February 15th
KU – March 1st
KSU – March 1st
PSU – March 1st
WSU – March 1st
FHSU – March 15th
Also, be on the lookout for Transfer Early Enrollment Days in late spring. Many colleges will host these events, and are great opportunities to finalize the admissions process (tour, housing, enrollment), and gives students the best shot of getting in courses before they fill up.
Also be sure to utilize your Admissions Representative at respective universities, they are paid to answer your questions about their college! Here are some contacts:
Emporia State University
Fort Hays State University
Kansas University
Kansas State University
Pittsburg State University
Washburn University
Some timelines for universities, as well as other transfer information, can be found on the Transition blog at www.transfernc.blogspot.com.
Good luck in your transfer, and feel free to contact me any time!
