STARS Campus Tour - Spring Preview

As STARS is currently in its Campus Tour "Off Season,"  I find it fitting to preview our upcoming spring schedule.  So far this year we've traveled to Wichita State, Washburn, Pittsburg State, and Emporia State - giving over 20 students the opportunity to see these campuses and the services they offer firsthand.  So what remains?  Three more schools are left on the docket.  Check out the details below!  Sign-ups for each event will be made available at the beginning of each respective month.

We return to KU once again, and the trip looks to include an admissions presentation, student panel, campus tour, dining experience, and a housing tour.  We have also requested a presentation from their Supportive Educational Services, which is a TRIO program similar to STARS.  If you are interested in learning more information about KU, materials are available in the CAVE.  You may also contact their Transfer Admissions Representative designated to NCCC, Amanda Painter at apainter3@ku.edu or 785.864.5412.

This will mark our first visit to Joplin, MO to visit the campus of MSSU (at least during my tenure).  Although the details have not been completely worked out yet, the trip will likely include an admissions/financial aid presentation tailored toward transfers, a campus tour, housing/dining experience, and an opportunity to visit with their TRIO program - Project Stay.  Questions about admissions can be directed toward their Transfer Representative, Jennifer Pliler at pliler-j@mssu.edu or 417.625.3573.

STARS continues our tradition of visiting KSU on their Annual Open House.  This isn't the most conventional of campus visits, but offers a great opportunity to see displays from virtually every program on campus, and provides a feel of how busy the campus may look on a typical day.  The visit will include a student ambassador led campus tour, and chances to win prizes and score some free KSU gear!  In the past, students have also participated in workshops designed specifically for transfers.  For more information on KSU admissions, you can contact their Transfer Representative for NCCC, Deana Core at tfradmit@ksu.edu or 785.532.6250.
